Increased Size & Strength
Standing among some of the strongest monsters, a werebear gains not only impressive strength, but size to match. Not only is Loki on par with other minotaur (or at least, minotaur his age), he's grown by half his size! ...At night, at least. Werebears have a day form and a night form according to their base definition, and Loki for this reason only gains his height when in his night form. Otherwise, no matter how monstrous he is in the daylight-and he is, in fact, exactly as monstrous-he remains as tall as a 13 year old should be. |
Fur on the back, shoulders, arms, etc
In both his day form and night form, Loki is absolutely coated in fur. The only parts of him that aren't covered, in fact, are his face; and even then, markings matching those of a red panda are on his face, while his nose bridge is somewhat velvety. This fur matches the patterning of a red panda, but it's significantly lighter-rather than shades of orange to black, Loki is donning shades of gold to orange. |
Bear-like Ears, Teeth, & Other Facial Features
Loki has large ears matching the 'bear' he is, ears that are covered in fur and able to swivel. They're grown from where his original ears were, but there are other things about his face that have changed as well. Most obviously, his nose is now panda-like as well, and his eyes are a brilliant gold. His teeth, as well, are those of a panda's-the incisors in particular are large, perfect for biting down and crunching. |
Longer, Clawed Arms & Padded Feet
In some failed attempt from his body to become more bear-like, Loki's impressive height is joined by longer arms. While his over all mass is still rather low, giving him a beanpole-appearance, the increase has actually helped him: he is able to run on all fours, something that is helped even more so by the padding on his feet and palms. Much like paws, he also has thick bear claws that can be used for better grip. Not to mention, of course, catching prey. |
Increased Climbing Ability & Bear Tail
Climbing is something he was already somewhat good at, but having the claws and strength for it only makes it easier. Loki however is exceptionally skilled in climbing now, easily scaling various walls within a matter of minutes despite it seemingly being impossible to manage. This is perhaps, however, aided by his tail-an incredibly long limb of his, the red-panda tail is able to compensate for what would typically be a loss of balance, something he takes advantage of while running as well. |
Heightened Senses & Innate Gut Feeling
Werebears are rather curious when it comes to what they know-Loki in particular is especially skilled with being able to tell what plants do what, aided by his relationship with the Flame Princess. In addition to this however, he gets a Gut Feeling when it comes to the incoming weather, as well as where he should go while moving about in caves or woods, or even cities! This is strongest within the limits of his territory however. |
Skinchanging Ability
Loki bears the unique ability to pull off his very monstrous form, that form taking the shape of a pelt. This act is known as 'skin-changing', but it comes at a cost. First, this leaves him very human-and just as vulnerable as one as well. Second, his skin is his lifeline. If he loses his skin, or the skin is harmed, then he will suffer the pain until death. What's more, is that there is a time limit; if he doesn't reunite with the pelt after 1 hour (or 2, due to his adepting with the Fourth), he will also die.
Notably, the pelt resembles the skin of his Fog form. |
Travel Form
Being an 'animal' himself, Loki is able to take the form of the animal he represents. ...Mostly. Loki can take the form of a small, young red panda, the fur gold and the face adorable. While in this form he is much weaker in terms of durability-however, in addition to a significant boost of speed, he is also still just as strong, allowing him to do things such as pull carriages. It is easiest for Loki to glide in this form as well, due to his much smaller size. |
Emotive Transformation & Territorial Instinct
Bears-and Loki as a consequence-are very well known for their territorial nature. They mark trees, and fiercely defend what is theirs. While Loki does not mark trees (what with sharing housing with a nymph), he does scent mark, rubbing his sides over territorial limits to make himself known. And if someone should intrude on that territory without warning him? Then on their own head be it.
This is even worse in the fog; Loki is only ever in his night form after all, so if the fog rolls in, he is prone to shifting between the two shapes the more enraged he becomes. More anger, more fog-making respecting boundaries even more key! |
Post-Transformation Fatigue
Most weres suffer exhaustion after reverting to day form, but Loki takes this to a new level. When Loki takes his day form by way of meeting the sun, he not only collapses and passes out, but in fact remains unresponsive for a whole eight hours. Wishing to avoid this sort of weakness, Loki thus typically sleeps in his travel form, skirting the risk of meeting darkness when the sun touches him. |
Silver Weakness
One of few true weaknesses Loki bears, Silver causes a severe, burning pain on contact with his skin. Ingesting silver is likewise, almost undoubtedly lethal; while getting shot doesn't cause as much issue if the bullet goes right through the body, any silver within him causes a severe poisonous reaction that will eventually kill him if not removed and treated for. |
Wing-Membrane
A backfire from a purchase made with Tikbalang, all but Loki's 'human' forms bear a large fur covered membrane of skin that goes between his arms and legs. This membrane has an additional extension of cartilage off the wrists that Loki is able to 'flare out', stretching the membrane even further. What this allows is the ability to glide-from any high surface, and most importantly, if the wind declares it. |
Mountain God's Runes
Received during Plaga's attempts to aid the monsters and remove them from the Fog God's influence, Loki's runes vary between his travel form and standard form. Most typically they resemble the henna patterns found along Aesir's body, shining thinly in gold and resembling starlight from beneath Loki's fur. In his travel form however, this becomes simplified to Aesir's crest, gleaming off of his back. |
Modified Fog Form
Perhaps as a way to make things 'somewhat' easier, Loki's fog form is less voltile than it could be, and he is actually able to focus rather easily on any tasks at hand while taking it. This is despite the form typically only being accessed by Loki when he feels angry, and this fact could perhaps be the 4th's fault. As such, the touch of Elias can be seen all over Loki; aside from his body resembling his own art works, he now bears various lines of gold and iridescence, stretches of metal and marble over his body giving him an 'angelic' appearance. |
Adept Spell - Cassandra's Sleep
As a hold over from his siding with the 4th God during the old boons and protecting his own, Loki gained two spells as an 'Adept'. The first of them is the ability to sleep away most wounds, even healing lost limbs by connecting them together. The more severe the injury, the more he must sleep in his vulnerable state, but a benefit to it is that he is able to see the future in his dreams. A shame, then, that no one would believe what he says! The use of this spell sadly makes him quite hungry, so he must take care not to over use it. |
Adept Spell - Skin-Changer
As a hold over from his siding with the 4th God during the old boons and protecting his own, Loki gained two spells as an 'Adept'. His second spell is an extension of his natural ability to skinchange, first manifesting as an extra hour of time on his regular limits. However, by taking a sample of someone's blood, or their most precious thing, he can alternatively spend a single hour shapeshifting as someone else! |
Tier 1 Spell - 'The Truth'
By using one of his original Tarot cards, the 'Fool' with a hole through it, Loki is able to find the 'truth' of things. By putting energy through the card, he can find hidden locations, and even decode runes and ciphers...or at least, sometimes. |
Tier 2 Spell - Loki is, quite simply, able to create five 3D illusions (illusions, not solid objects) to act as some sort of distraction or otherwise. He cannot create entire rooms naturally, but other creatures, or even a single blanket disguise over himself with focus, is plenty possible. Unfortunately, on top of only being a visual illusion, he can only re-create himself in 'blue'. |
Immediate Arcade Revival
Should Loki die for whatever reason, is immediately recovered, reviving within the Arcade inside his own bed. |
Protection of the Neutral
Having requested it of Elias, the 4th God offers protection to Flame Princess should the nymph 'need' it; this means that Flame Princess is able to revive within the arcade, and thus determine that she will in fact return to a safe place when she revives. The resurrection is additionally immediate. |
Network Access & Death Counter
There is a small skull beneath the standard settings of Loki's laptop, which bears the number '2' beside it. This number represents how many times he has died, and as such increases if he meets death again. |
Arcade Bedroom
Loki's bedroom is decently sized, and rather soundly represents his newfound loyalty to the 4th God as his 'friend'. A 'card-table' for his duel monster cards is there, and Elias consistently plays with him at this table, allowing him to not only improve his illusionary abilities by projecting the cards, but even giving him the opportunity to beef up his deck with new ones as Elias himself tries out cards of his own design. |
General Appearance
Loki is, in general, something of a mess. His cornrows are less cornrows and now messy braids, and his clothes even seem to constantly be hashed together at the last minute. Loki is always on the go after all-there is always something he's up to, whether it's patrolling the streets, or helping new arrivals. And if there's work to be done, then there's not much time to bother with his looks now is there? |
Grooming Routine
Unkempt as he typically looks, Loki does in fact keep clean. He washes and shampoos his hair every day, dries off his fur properly, and regularly washes his clothes. Brushing in particular is important-it keeps his fur from matting up horribly, and his hair doesn't braid itself! |
Daily Wardrobe
Clothing is something of a battle for Loki-while he was intending to get some things tailored some time before, the tailors themselves seem to have gone home, leaving him with what he was able to make for himself! What this consists of are over-alls with slits in the sides and buttons at the ankles, meant to be able to stand properly in place if he shifts between day and night forms. He also typically wears a large poncho over this, the inside of which is riddled with pockets that he keeps stocked with herbs and other knickknacks and weapons. |
Sleep Wear & Habits
Due to his severe weakness to sun exposure, and the amount of room in the treehouse, Loki has found something of a compromise through his travel form. By taking travel form, he doesn't have to switch to day form-and in doing so, he's free to sleep the day away without risking the inability to wake up in an emergency!
As for where he sleeps, it's where 'Jake the Dog' would have stayed in the treehouse's original home. Loki has the dresser drawer filled right up with blankets and pillows and even a few of his hoarded stuffed animals, all there to keep him company through his slumber. |
Feeding Habits
Loki tries to feed rather regularly, despite only needing to eat meat twice a month; since he still continues his patrols of Bavan and Vandare to beat down crime, he still makes regular drop-offs at the Soup Kitchen-as such, he gets a bowl whenever he's there, typically resulting in watered down meat every 3 days. |
Death Count : 2 | Kill Count : 2
Loki has died twice thus far in Ryslig, but has not forgotten anything as a result just yet.
|
Coin Count : 140
Loki has bought many things in Ryslig, many with their own backfire; aside from his deck of throwing cards (20), he also used coins to unintentionally purchase his wing membrane (80) as a backfire in receiving gifts for his friends. He also purchased a set of 'gun clips' for Shingo (20), devices that attach to his feet and allow him to shoot guns from them. |

Noted Items Loki has Received through Tikbalang & Mana
|
Loki's Tree
Technically Flame Princess' tree, it was purchased by her through Tikbalang as a backfire from when she requested her palace. The tree once belonged to her ex-boyfriend, and it occasionally speaks to her (as she's a nymph). Loki in particular has marked it as his 'territory' however, and occasionally slips and refers to the great living monstrosity as 'his'...despite sleeping in the dresser drawer. |
Loki's Daily Activities
Loki's typically restricted to the evenings by way of sheer exhaustion, regardless of his travel mode 'cheat'-but that does not mean it he doesn't occasionally wander in the day light. As Loki doesn't have a set job, he tends to move more on autopilot; every other evening, he patrols either Bavan or Vandare for criminal activity, occasionally running errands while he does so. The other evenings are his 'days off', which he spends doing anything from sparring in his new arena, to playing games in the arcade (either with or without Elias). He's a social sort, and likes to help-most notably, every arrival period he can be seen carting people too and fro with his wagon. |
Kulen Parasite Event
During the Sun Festival in Kulen, Loki became infected by parasitic insects due to his attempts to save others in the temple; even only partway through, the insect has twisted his form to a considerable extent.
Thus far, the side effects of his infection are as follows:
Phase 1
Phase 2 Phase 3 |
Control of Center Event
During the terrorist attack staged by the Bloody Bones, Loki attempted to help with the rescue of victims from the Hospital Attack, which transformed the entire building into living, feeding flesh. While Loki himself was initially as unchanged as all others in the area, his paws (feet included) eventually mutated into panda faces, with functioning jaws. |
Plaga's Peak Event
During Plaga's monster alteration event, Loki took the form of a Gargoyle. His features and wings greatly resembled the angel Glamor, the very being that swallowed him once before he arrived in Ryslig. There were even various marble faces over his wings and body, their eyes staring outward. During this time, he became an adept of the fourth god, and was able to spit ice as well as fire.
Aside from this, noted features Loki bore were his mountain rune-which lit up to such brilliance that he created a spotlight-and his hoarding habit, which focused on stuffed animals. He managed to spend every cent he had on them, leading the the Tikbalang Quest that would end in his wing membrane. Interestingly, breaking out from his statue form and awaking in his bear form marks the only time his statue form did not simply shimmer and fade away; rather, all of the gold, marble, and jewelry that formed his statue self remained, allowing him to obtain fresh funding for what he needed. More details on this form of Loki can be found here. |
The Fourth Wall
When Loki first arrived in Ryslig, it was during the 4th's attempt to gain an edge over the Fog, by bringing in his own human warriors. These people each took the form of one of five classes of 'zombie', with Loki in particular becoming a 'Vengeance' Zombie. His arms were as long as his legs, and his body devoid of all biological needs and fluids despite a beating heart. The eyes of his whites went black, his teeth sharp, and his skin pallor, as if dead. Most curiously however was that his hair grew out until it was long past the ground, and it constantly dripped water as if soaked. He could even teleport between bodies of water.
While in this state, Loki fed on energy-he did so by pulling others into televisions, much like the device he appeared in himself. To aid in this hunt, he had the ability to seek out 'justice'...at least according to his morals. Complete information on his Zombie form is located here. |
