LOKI | WEREBEAR | ||||||||||||
CURRENT INFORMATION | TRANSFORMATION COMPLETE ● Sharp fangs — In both night and day forms, Loki has a jaw filled with the teeth of a red panda, the incisors in particular being quite sharp. As the red panda is not a true bear however, it is debated by some if he has 'real bear teeth'; Loki insists that doesn't matter. ● Bear-like Ears, Tail — The traits of the Red Panda cause Loki to bear an incredibly long tail according to his anatomy; one which remains almost as long as his full body in both day and night forms. His ears, as well, resemble those of the panda in both forms. He can swivel them in many directions, and both body parts often move according to his emotions. ● Fur over body — In both day and night forms, Loki is covered in thick gold and rust fur. It covers all but his face, and the fur around the trhoat is especially thick. ● Longer Arms — Again a trait of both forms, Loki's arms are as long as his legs are, and allow him to run on all fours with considerable ease. It makes him look quite lanky, however. ● Increased Size — During the evening, in his 'full werebear form', Loki gains half his size in height. This takes him from a mere 4'8'' to an impressive 7' even, but thanks to his face and generally slim appearance, this does nothing to change how old he looks. ● Large black claws — Both Loki's hands and feet are clawed, with the nails now large, curved black claws instead. His hands and feet are additionally padded, adding protection to the hands. ● Bright Yellow Eyes, Bear Face — Over Loki's face, the fur markings that red pandas are so known for can be seen. Aside from this, he also now has brilliant gold eyes, and a bear-like (or rather, panda-like) nose as well. Notably, these eyes bear a strange digital aspect to them due to his alliance with the 4th God. ● Skin Membrane — After a purchase from Tikbalang, Loki's various forms now bear a skin membrane and extension of cartilage, the latter of which allows Loki to more easily extend the membrane to a length that carries him over the winds (as well as fold it against his body). The membrane carries the rest of his fur pattern, but it is unfortunately quite uncomfortable to keep close too long, and thus forces Loki to wear ponchos over shirts. Naturally, with how the membrane is constructed, he cannot fly while wearing his pants either, making it more of a hassle than anything else. ● Mountain Rune — Loki's runes change across his three forms; over his main form, one struggles to see the full rune until he stretches his full 'wingspan' out, revealing the same pattern as seen on the back of his cards. It is the more complex insignia of Aesir, a great overlay of diamonds that can be seen on both his front and on his back; the markings shine almost like stardust, creating an inversion of the effect on his cards. Aside from this however, lines matching the armor of Aesir as Loptr wore it can be seen over the main body and even tail; because much of this was hidden by numerous other markings on Aesir himself however, Loki is not totally irritated by this fact. In contrast, his fog form bears the full henna-like detail of the markings that Loptr wore over his skin, shining with the same golden light. His travel form, in the meantime, carries a simplified form of Aesir's insignia, again difficult to view unless the full wingspan is stretched. ● Increased Strength/Climbing Ability — As a werebear, Loki stands as one of the strongest of monsters, and is thus able to perform incredible feats of strength. In addition to his existing skills as a fighter, he can throw his weaponized cards with such force that he shatters concrete, and even seems to 'explode' the target to some extent. In addition to this, his ability to scale buildings has improved to an incredible point; something helped by the fact that he can, much like the red panda itself, swivel his ankles right around to better grip what he is climbing. ● Heightened Senses — As a werebear, Loki has incredible night vision, as well as enhanced hearing and smell. The latter is by far the strongest, and he can track prey easily with his nose, with sight and hearing only secondary when it comes to hunting. ● Territorial Instinct — Now that he and Flame Princess have their own home, Loki has become increasingly territorial of the Treehouse. While he's restrained himself from scratching any marks as 'claim', he has a bad habit of wandering around it in his travel mode to rub at the bark as a cat would, leaving his scent everywhere that someone with more sensitive senses can identify it. ● Awareness of the Surroundings — Loki has a natural instinct toward various survival matters, most particularly with his own territory, though the ability extends to other areas. In particular, he has an affinity for naming various plants, and is able to tell if something is edible or drinkable or not. ● Skinchanger Abilities — Thanks to being aligned and adept with the 4th God, Loki is not only able to take off his bearskin and walk as a human child once more, but able to do so for two hours. He needs to keep his skin hidden and safe however; as if he does not reunite with it after those two hours, or keep it safe during that time, he could be severely weakened or even killed. ● Emotive Transformation — While rarely active during the day at all, becoming especially enraged during those hours can promptly `trigger at least partial transformation into his night form. This state becomes more obvious, and dangerous during the fog however; as in this case, the transformation extends to his Fog Form, a state that he tends to otherwise ignore as a follower of the 4th God. ● Transformation Fatigue — As with any were-creature, the transformation to and from his night form is an exhaustive process. While the strength that comes with his night form shrugs off this fatigue, returning to his smaller size takes too much out of him in the end, and Loki often finds himself passed out for at least 6 hours as a result. (He may be roused after this time, but it is rather difficult during the winter months.) ● Hunger — Alongside many monsters of Ryslig, Loki is required to feed on human flesh on a semi-regular basis. Generally Loki keeps this in check quite easily--whenever he makes his rounds for the Lawbringers, he passes by the soup kitchen, and often grabs a bite there to tide himself over. His hunting instincts, generally, are kept in check by the lawbringing habits. ● Silver Weakness — Like all weres, Loki has a severe weakness to Silver; it burns his flesh on contact, and if prolonged contact is made, he could suffer an agonizing poisoning. Silver weapons also cut through his body far easier, and if anything made of silver were to be injested or embedded, he would die that poisoning death at a variable rate. ● Red Panda Form — Loki is able to take a travel form as a were, this form being a 'red panda' bearing his fur colours. About the size of a small cat, and bearing the same wing membranes that he has normally, Loki often uses this form not only to travel, but also to gain an evasive advantage in a fight, or skirt around the daylight reversion of his night and day forms. He is also able to change without losing his clothes as well, making it an even more preferable state. As with any travel form however, strength has been sacrificed for speed; while he can certainly lift plenty, it is easy for another monster to take him down if he is caught. ● Fog Form — Where his travel form is small, his Fog Form is enormous. Large, and almost demonic in shape, his body grows to almost ten feet in height while gaining the girth and muscle to support it. His face and fur patterning give a terrifying appearance to them that far betrays his calm, and what's more is that despite his enormous size and weight, his wing membranes still allow for gliding! As a follower of the 4th however, this form is not as strong as it could be; against a follower of the Fog, he would have to rely on his speed and wits. However, what it lacks in strength it makes up for in 'style'; as the form is decorated with metal, wire, and gold, his form stylized to resemble his very throwing cards. ● Boons from the Fourth God — As a follower of the 4th God, Loki bears numerous magical boons and spells to both reward him and aid him in future efforts. A total list and reference of these non-physical boons and spells can be found in the comment here. ● Astral Magic — As of August 19th, Loki is a practitioner of Astral Magic, the art of using one's energy to guide and protect others. More information on this magic is located in this comment here. | | ![]() ☠ death countdeaths: 2 | kills: 2 | CHANGES TIMELINE 1st changeAug. 30 | Teeth sharpen like bear's

Date: 2016-08-19 04:03 am (UTC)During this sleep, Loki may additionally view scenes of the future...however, if he tries to directly warn any of what he has seen, his words will be taken as false.
Alongside this spell, the duration of time granted to his standard skinwalking ability is extended. However, he also has a second option; by taking a sample of a target's blood, or even an object of strong meaning to the target, he is instead able to take the form of another person while the skin is removed. This ability can in fact be combined with his Astral abilities-however, the shapeshifted state only lasts for that single hour of time, and his weaknesses as a bear still remain...including the then fatal daytime fatigue.
Using one of his cards, Loki is able to discern the truth of a viewed target, by peering through the hole in it. This can be used to decode messages, or even unearth otherwise hidden clues...however, if the target is charmed against magic itself, he may not necessarily find it.
He is able to use this to create duplicates of himself-however, these copies are blue coloured, making it easy to tell him apart from them unless he coats himself in a haze of the same colour. On the flipside however, he is thus able to use all of his power over the spell to hide himself from view entirely, making it seem as if he is even one with the night sky...so long as he keeps it in mind.

Date: 2016-08-19 04:24 am (UTC)The Art of Astral Magic is one focused in energy. In order to activate any spell, one must thus have enough energy to successfully dash a hundred meters-this of course being the bare minimum. It is preferred, to say the least, that one be at full health if not even in a surplus of energy, while casting for this reason.
With each spell, there is a risk of overuse however-going too far with energy output can result in fatigue at best, and death at worst.
While in this state, the caster is able to enter the sleeping minds of others. In this way, they can view their dreams, and interact with them. However, the caster does not control the dreams-only the form that they themselves appear in. As such, it is child's play for the dreamer to not only choose to force the caster from their mind, but even destroy them...killing the caster as a result.
A constant between both aspects of the spell is this-while wandering outside the body, it is as tiring as if they were walking in reality. Because of this, travelling beneath water is a strain, and travelling through more than average sized walls is exhausting. If the body is attacked while in this state, the caster will not realize completely what is happening either; they will simply feel a jolt, or a numbness, their form losing focus as their body loses life.
Until they reunite with the body, the body will not awaken-nor will they be able to replenish energy, so it is key not to stray too far for too long in this state.
The ability to condense the entire physical form into sheer energy, and move at light speed as a result. Because of the strain of this technique, movement over distance exhausts energy at a 1:5 foot ratio, as if sprinting. It is thus a technique that cannot be used over long distances, or indeed numerous times in succession through a fight, making it best for quick dodges from otherwise fatal experiences.
A shield can only absorb as much energy as already exists within it however; as soon as it withstands a blow beyond this level, it is forced to disperse entirely.
The shield state can also be used to rebound energy in a similar manner, again succeeding only if the energy of the sustained blow is equal or less than the amount within the shield.
When it comes to how much energy is used for a shield, much can be concentrated to a single location; however, at the most, it can also be used to cover an entire room, with one's full life force being capable of shielding such a room from serious attack. Due to the fact that energy used in such a way cannot be recovered, this becomes a fatal exercise however.
A spell unique to Loki as a Werebear, it allows him to combine his skinwalking technique with his power. By removing his skin, Loki takes conscious, and powerless human form, while imbuing the hide with so much energy it bleaches white. The skin is then presented to a single chosen target, at which point the spell truly activates.
While wearing the skin, the target gains a sense of dread toward anything or anyone that may cause them harm, allowing them to subconsciously avoid danger. They are naturally hidden from detection via scent, and even sight and sound while near the caster's territory, with the effect of this cloaking wearing off the further they are from it. As a final precaution however, the cloak has one last form of protection. If struck by an attack, the white of the skin begins to lose its colour, and therefore its energy. When the cloak loses all colour entirely, the skin crumbles to nothing-and Loki therefore dies.
However, if the skin is removed, or if Loki is rendered asleep or unconscious, this will happen as well-meaning that the target of protection must somehow reunite with the caster by a certain time in order to hand over the skin, returning the equivalent amount of energy remaining in addition to the bear's true form.
